The Purple Girl

From time to time, colours have revolved around everyone’s life and had brought memories and different meanings to them. To the assignment given to us students, the instruction was interesting, which was to type out an essay about the colours that effects your emotion. Personally, my ultimate choice of  colour would be purple. The reason to that is because purple speaks deeply to me. Through this research done, I have understood why purple has much relate to me better compared to any other colours available.
According to Frank, M. G. & Gilovich, T. ( Color Psychology, 1998 ), purple represents many different types of positive and negative emotions or characters. There are some to which I agree with as I believe I portrait those emotions from time to time but there are also some that I am still learning in what form I may portrait that certain emotions. Of which those positives emotions that I agree with Frank, M. G. & Gilovich, T.’s research are the feeling of being mysterious, sensual and noble. On the negative emotions, I have to agree that I may easily mourn, exaggerate and get confused at certain times. From these research, I have realized how the colour purple has much become part of my life for a long time in support to my emotional moments. The reason to this is because purple has seemed be a vague yet big colour in terms of causing different mood effects ( Colors, Going Mental. n.d) .
To which I believe, purple may also create other different emotions from within me. In addition to the stated emotions above, other emotions like being imaginative, soulful, limitless, safe, royal, feminine, powerful and energetic may also have been cause by the colour purple. On the negative emotions that can be caused by the colour purple may be of these emotions, which are looking snobby at certain times and being expensive for certain wants.
I have learnt that purple not only has been a colour in my life, but it has also been a belief for my life. The belief I stand for purple is that it is not only a colour but it is a way of my life. From the characteristics of the colour purple, it has created a sort of guidelines for myself.  Without a touch of purple in a day, I am not complete. Even with other people’s perception, I was referred as ‘The Purple Girl’ for a reason. Purple has meant so much because it is the colour that is in me and has become me. Due to its very personal meaning to myself, I can easily relate, feel and become the colour purple that most people believe it to portrait.
To my conclusion, purple is not just a colour, it is my life, it is my friend, and it is a piece of my heart. Purple speaks perfectly for me and with it, I believe I can become the woman I plan to become one day in the future.
